VW T4- 12 months MOT, Full Service incl new Cambelt, and under 74k on the clock!
Please note £500 price reduction! For sale is my VW T4, I have owned this vehicle for nearly 3 years, and has been my daily drive up until recently as well as the main family car. We have had no real issues since owning the vehicle, apart from a split radiator, which was towed immediately, and replaced locally in November last year (receipts to show work completed). The van took us on a 1200 mile trip around France last summer, and never missed a beat. I am only selling this vehilce, as we loved it so much, that I bought a T5 as my job has changed, and I will be doing more miles.
When I bought the van I was told that the van was in a compound shortly after purchase for around five years due to a company going into liquidation, hence why the mileage is so low. I have plenty of old Mot's backing up the mileage.
The van seats six (3 upfront, and 3 in the back), although the back seats match the front (Inca pattern), these were fitted by my mechanic and are not factory fitted, they are fitted nearer the part-bulk head which has given us a little extra room in the back. The van is white, with a black roof.
We have had the van serviced each year for the last 3 years, and no expense has been spared. Within the last 50 miles, the vehicle has had a full service, and also a new Cambelt fitted, for peace of mind for the new owner, and will have 12 months MOT, upon receipt of a deposit. Also in the last few months the rear exhaust box was quite rusty, so this has been replaced. I have also had the cluster professionally repaired as the clock didn't work (I have a receipt from BBA Reman for this work from February 2017).
Since owning we have had the following completed;
New suspension completed by Northshore T4
Rear Side Window (that opens) fitted by Northshore T4
Glow Plugs and Relay Switch replaced
Yearly service (service histroy from 55k)
Passenger door handle replaced (I have kept the old one incase someone wishes to fix that so you have just one key).
The van is fully carpeted inside, including the VW logo on the roof for some reason! This has been done to a good standard and is probably worth £100's alone.
Very low mileage
Lots of MOT history
Part service history (from 55,337)
Mechanically has been very reliable
Blank canvass for someone to either use as a Kombi, or convert- which at the current mileage would only add value to the van
Due to low mileage, the flip side of this it is highly likely the van has been stood still for periods of time, therefore some rust is evident mainly on the wheel arches, this does not overly detract from the look of the van, but if I were to keep the van this would be something to do soon, to avoid it worsening. In addition to the wheel arches, a photo by the passenger window with my finger shows probably the most noticeable rust.
The radio arial is broken off.
The heater works, but does not change from hot to cold unless you flick a switch under the bonnet. This is about £100 to replace I believe, but we never bothered. The middle vents always blow cold (this is standard on all T4's) and the outers and windscreen blow hot.
The left speaker stopped working, not sure why this happend as we don't play 'the Gruffalo' that loud! Maybe a wire, but not sure.
The rear windscreen wiper has never worked.
The seats are marked as you would expect from a vehicle of this age with some small holes too. No rips, but seat covers would probably be worth buying for a few £'s.
Please note; only contact if you are interested in the vehicle, I don't want canvassers, or sales calls, or swaps. Although I will take an offer, please be realistic, I have not looked after it, to then give it away, so anyone looking to 'take it off my hands' for £2k will not be responded to.
If you wish to test drive, a valid fully comprehensive insurance policy will need to be shown, but I am happy to take anyone out.
The van is sold as seen, and any independent inspection is welcomed. Thanks for looking
